Top 5 Gut Health Resolutions for the New Year (That You'll Actually Want Stick To!)

Okay, folks—2025 is almost over! New Year, New You, right? I going to be totally honest here “new year, new diet” promises just don't work.

Here's my resolution and it doesn't involve living off kale or only drinking green juices (unless you’re into that, no judgment!). This year, I'm making resolutions for my gut health, because guess what? A happy gut means a happy me. So, buckle up and get ready for the easiest, most fun resolutions that will have you loving your gut by the end of the day not year!

1. Start Your Day with a Gut-Friendly Breakfast (No, Really)

We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day (unless you’re more of a “I’ll have coffee and ignore my stomach for a few hours” type, which...we get it). But this year, let’s actually start with something that loves your gut as much as you love sleep! Grab something full of fiber and probiotics, like a yogurt parfait with Lola Snacks' granola bars. Your gut will be so happy it might even send you a thank-you card.

Pro Tip: If you're feeling fancy, top your parfait with a dash of cinnamon and a “fancy” spoon, because why not?

2. Get Your Fiber On Like a Fiber-Obsessed Superhero

Fiber is your gut’s BFF. Seriously, if fiber had a fan club, your gut would be the president. So, this year, let’s make sure we’re loading up on the good stuff—fruits, veggies, whole grains, and legumes. Try to make every meal a fiber-packed fiesta. Bananas, oats, beans—your gut will thank you for all that fiber love.

Pro Tip: Grab a Lola Snacks bar when you’re on the go—because hey, we’re all busy, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make gut-friendly choices.

3. Drink More Water (Because, Spoiler Alert: You’re Probably Not Drinking Enough)

Listen, I know—water isn’t exactly the most exciting thing to sip on when there’s a coffee shop on every corner, but trust me, your gut will sing you a beautiful song when you stay hydrated. Water helps everything work better, from digestion to that “I woke up and didn’t need three cups of coffee” feeling. Aim for at least 8 cups a day. If you’re like me and get bored of plain ol' water, throw in a few slices of lemon, mint, or even some frozen berries to make it feel like you're a health guru.  - Skip the carbonated waters, they'll just make you gassy

Pro Tip: Carry a water bottle with you everywhere, because, let’s face it, if it’s not in front of you, it’s probably not happening.

4. Get Probiotic with It! (AKA, Love Your Good Bacteria)

Probiotics are the little heroes of your gut, and you want to give them a VIP ticket to your digestive system! Add probiotics to your daily routine in the form of yogurt, kimchi, or a snack that actually makes you look forward to eating it—like Lola Snacks' granola bars. No need to turn your fridge into a fermented food factory. A little goes a long way, and you’ll feel the gut benefits (without the weird fermented smells).

Pro Tip: Make it fun! Treat your probiotic snack like a VIP experience. Take a selfie with your snack and caption it, “Gut health is the new glow-up.”

5. Don’t Let Stress Ruin Your Gut’s BIO Party (Because It Will)

Stress is another villain in the gut health story. It can make everything go haywire, from bloating to constipation to those “WHY DID I EAT THAT” moments. So, this year, it's all about finding ways to de-stress. Whether it’s a 20-second calm breathing session, dancing around your kitchen in your pajamas (not that we’ve ever done that), or binge-watching a comedy show, make time for things that relax you. Stress doesn’t stand a chance when your gut is calm and happy!

Pro Tip: Take 10 minutes a day to just chill—whether that means meditation, yoga, just lying on the floor and staring at the ceiling, or screaming into a pillow.

Bonus Resolution: Move It, Move It (For Your Gut!) We all know that exercise is great for your body, but guess what? It’s also awesome for your gut. Even a short walk after meals can help things move along. So, this year, let’s make a goal to move every day—even if it’s just for 10 minutes. Bonus points if you do it while belting out your favorite song or pretending you're in a music video.

Pro Tip: Find an activity that makes you feel like a kid again—whether it’s dancing in your living room or jumping on a trampoline. Whatever makes you laugh counts as exercise!
